Mr Benn inspired Nike trainers at Liberty
Mr Benn, a floral patterned Knight's suit of armor, some Nike trainers, at Liberty's of London…right’o…I know what you're thinking; somebody's been taking mind bending hallucinogens, or had too much cheese before bedtime, or it’s one of those urban myth's like the Captain Pugwash, Seaman Stains thing.
Well, there is an element of truth to this trippy scenario! Liberty of London as part of their Autumn Winter 2011 range have produced, in conjunction with Nike, a range of trainers incorporating fabric print designs by famous children’s illustrators. ‘Douglas Stripe’ is from an original illustration by David McKee of Mr Benn, ‘Helena’s Party’ was the result of a collaboration with Lauren Child, creator of Charlie & Lola and ‘Eb’s’ print is based on the work of Brian Wildsmith.
